Mayakobá

Mayakobá is the prime example of our work, with over eleven years of work in its masterplan. In 1997, the Spanish firm OHL invited us to do a proposal for the development of a 700-hectare site in the Mexican Caribbean coast, in the state of Quintana Roo. We visited the site, sensed it offered great possibilities, and the client was completely willing to respect the ordinance plan. A multidisciplinary team carried out the environmental studies, which became the foundation and support for our design work. In this way, the physical and sensory qualities of each area within the site, its topography, flora, fauna and hydrological conditions were the starting point for our first conceptual ideas .
